Hello Western New York!
Words cannot express the abundance of emotions we’ve had coursing through our veins since we decided to bring We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym to the Buffalo area. As much as this is a dream of ours, we know that this means even more to so many families out there. It means the motto of the gym – “Finally a place where you never have to say ‘I’m sorry.’” It means a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where your child can develop, learn, and grow. It means a place where your child can be who they are, and where we can teach others patience, tolerance, and acceptance. This is a gym for ALL children, an integrated experience that will create a better world.
Ours is not a story of one specific child, but rather, a story of many children with special needs. I cannot help but get emotional thinking about all of the children I have provided services to over the past eight years, because they are the pieces of who I am today and they all have a special place in my heart. These amazing children, along with our beautiful children, have led my husband and I on this journey. In 2011, we welcomed our first daughter – Camila, and in 2013, we welcomed our second daughter – Olivia. We feel beyond blessed, and we cannot imagine life without them.
My name is Jessica Sills, and I’ve been happily married to my husband, Jeff Sills, for the past ten years. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, and I provide services through early intervention, pre-school, schools, and home care agencies. Jeff is a Physical Education Teacher and Tennis Coach. We have enjoyed volunteering for Challengers baseball, raising money for Autism awareness, as well as with the Special Olympics for several years.
Our goal is to provide this sensory-based resource to our community; a place where all children can come together to improve of their skills – communication, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, fine and gross motor. This gym is a true extension of who we are, both personally and professionally. We are very dedicated and passionate about reaching out to make a difference in the lives of others. We believe in this, and the impact it will have in our area.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We look forward to meeting you!
